2026 Export Outlook for China's Textile Fibers and Medical Non-woven Tapes

2026 04/17

Polyester Fiber
Exports are projected to demonstrate robust growth in 2026; export volume for the January–February period increased by 26% year-on-year. India's removal of BIS certification requirements has boosted monthly export volumes of POY (Pre-Oriented Yarn) and FDY (Fully Drawn Yarn) to 40,000 tons. The RCEP agreement has stimulated demand in ASEAN markets, with high-tenacity and recycled fiber varieties leading the growth.
Viscose Fiber
Exports grew by 5.1% year-on-year, reaching 187,000 tons. The ASEAN region holds a dominant position (accounting for a 63.4% share), benefiting from zero-tariff policies under the RCEP framework. Export volumes for high wet modulus and eco-friendly product series have risen, while the EU's Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) poses a challenge to lower-grade products.
Nylon (Polyamide) Fiber
Export volume reached 680,000 tons, representing a 9.5% year-on-year increase. The EU has imposed anti-dumping duties of up to 90.1% on relevant products. The focus of export markets has shifted toward the ASEAN and Middle East regions; functional and eco-friendly (bio-based and recycled) products are highly favored due to their high added value.
Medical Non-woven Tapes
Exports grew by 18.5% year-on-year. The ASEAN region (accounting for 34.6% of exports) and the Middle East (22.8%) are leading the export markets. Compliance with the EU's Medical Devices Regulation (MDR) is critical; hypoallergenic and breathable products dominate the high-end market segment.
Trend Outlook: Industrial Structure Upgrading—High-performance products and those with environmental certifications are leading the market. In the face of trade barriers imposed by Western nations, the ASEAN region, India, and the Middle East have emerged as the primary drivers of export growth.
